Following the success of our meals exploring regional Italian wines, please join us on November 5th for our Icons of Rioja wine dinner! This most famous region of Spain is known for storied wineries like López de Heredia and Hermanos Peciña, both of whom bottle classically styled, ageable wines. But producers here do not simply rest on tradition, and we will have a chance to sample exciting wines from the rising star wineries Bideona and Alegre Valgañón.
Here is the full wine lineup for the evening:
Bideona, 2021 Rioja Blanco “Las Parcelas”
Alegre Valgañón, 2022 Rioja Garnacha
Hermanos Peciña, 2014 Rioja Gran Reserva
López de Heredia, 2014 Rioja “Viña Bosconia” Reserva
López de Heredia, 2001 Rioja Tondonia Reserva
The favorite trio will be on hand to guide this unique experience at Four Winds Farm, starting with Tom Loup of Vino Veritas, who will be on hand to speak about the wines and wineries. Jay Hutchinson, former sommelier of Michelin-starred Ai Fiori in New York and now Director of Strategy & Business Operations at Four Winds Farm, will oversee beverage service. Chef Jon Rosnow, one of the finest pasta craftsmen in the Midwest, has prepared a menu influenced by the region but complemented with unique, local touches. Look for his signature hand-grown and foraged ingredients in each course.
