Bodegas Antidoto is headed by young French winemaker, Bertrand Sourdais. Bertrand first brought the region of Soria to light with his pioneering wines at Atauta, a village within the province. But when Atauta was sold in 2009 during Spain’s economic downturn, his gaze shifted to his family’s Chinon estate in France’s Loire Valley. Yet, the pull of Spain remained strong, and Bertrand was soon back in Soria, accumulating a cadre of vineyard owners with choice parcels of old vines. The result was Bodegas Antídoto.
The winery Bodegas Antídoto preserves the wine-making tradition of a region with hundred-year-old vines. This place is unique and special thanks to its altitude, its climate and the peculiarities of the soil that give a significant character, which is different from other Ribera del Duero wines. The winery works hand in hand with vine-growers from the area of San Esteban, with 776 small plots that compose 110 hectares expanding through 15 villages.
