Closerie du Pelan

Closerie du Pelan

Located ten kilometres to the north of Castillon-la-Bataille, the last battle site of the Hundred Years’ War, Closerie du Pelan was founded in the 1980s, thanks to the efforts of Régis Moro, his wife Thérèse and their son Sébastien. As close friends of the Amoreau family, the owners of Le Puy, just 3 kilometres away, they naturally called on Jean Pierre Amoreau to take over their estate in 2022.

Closerie de Pelan encompasses 42 total hectares at altitudes of 50 to 80 meters. The Le Puy team is currently refurbishing the cellar and planting vines to fill in the rows’ many gaps, and will continue the biodynamic farming Régis began over a decade ago. Régis’ son Sébastien is on board full-time at Pelan, working alongside Harold and the Amoreaus and helping continue his father’s legacy; his name will appear on the estate’s front labels as well.
