Dupont-Fahn

Son of Michel, Raymond Dupont-Fahn is a fifth generation wine maker and has worked closely with his father and grandfather from an early age. Their domaine is situated in the village of Tailly in Meursault with a total of 10 hectares. In just a short career as winemaker Raymond has produced some stunningly great wines from humble appellations Auxey and Bourgogne.  

Since his management, Raymond has cut down on the use of new oak from 40% used by his father to just 10%, with barrels that are no older than three years. He eschews the use of any pesticides in the vineyards, aiming to be as sustainable as he can, and harvests slightly earlier to produce wines with better acidity and lower alcohol. Overall, these are wines that show incredible balance and precision – the raw talent in expressing the terroir from all his lieux-dits is very impressive.
