Mathias Hirtzberger

In 2014, Mathias Hirtzberger, the youngest son of the famous winemaker Franz Hirtzberger, started his own winery with some of the most beautiful vineyards in and around Wösendorf, Wachau. Riesling and Grüner Veltliner vines are grown on steep stone terraces as well as on high sunny plateaus above the Danube and are cultivated and harvested with the utmost care by hand. Mathias’ philosophy is a cultivation as close to nature as possible to promote the typicity of the single vineyards and to produce authentical and distinct wines.
